Appointments to the Technical Customer Advisory Committee

b

The Technical Customer Advisory Committee (TCAC) was established in 2006 to assist in and facilitate public review and discussion of the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (Water Authority) policies, plans and programs. TCAC was established as a professional technical group of volunteers to represent the five core functional areas of operating a water and wastewater utility. This group is intended to provide outside expertise in best practices and private sector applications for continuous business improvement.

The TCAC Chair announced there were two vacancies on the committee and that an online application was posted for customers who may be interested in serving on this technical committee. Board members were informed that if they know of anyone interested that they should apply on the Water Authority’s website. In addition, a notice was placed on the Water Authority website’s front page. Qualified nominations were compiled and forwarded through this communication. Anne Jakle and Andrew Robertson are recommended for confirmation. Below is a summary of the applicants.

Andrew Robertson

Andrew Robertson, P.E. has been a licensed professional engineer in New Mexico, specializing in community drinking water infrastructure, since 2002. He received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Rice University and his master’s in civil engineering from the University of Texas. Andrew currently serves as senior vice president at Souder, Miller & Associates (SMA), where he has worked since 2002. He is also a volunteer with Water Engineers for the Americas and Africa (WEFTA), traveling regularly to Honduras since 1995. In that time, he has assisted 31 rural villages in Honduras, with a combined population of over 29,000 people, to build their own water and sanitation infrastructure projects, including river diversions, wells, transmission lines, concrete tanks, distribution networks, outdoor sanitation modules (with sinks, toilets and showers), and bathrooms for elementary schools that previously did not have any facilities.

Anne Jakle

Anne Jakle is Director of the Office of Sustainability at UNM, which provides vision, direction, and support for environmental sustainability at the university. Her prior experience includes a number of environmental and energy policy roles within universities and state and federal government agencies. Jakle holds a Master’s Degree of Applied Science in Natural Resource Management from Massey University in New Zealand, where she spent a year as a Fulbright Scholar, and a BA in Environmental Studies from Dartmouth College.
