Authorizing the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority to Accept Grant Award/ Agreement with the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration for the Aquifer Storage and Recovery Project

WHEREAS, the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (Water Authority) will enter into an Agreement (ZI5044-MG25-147) in the amount of $400,000 with the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) Infrastructure Planning and Development Division for the Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) Project; and

WHEREAS, the ASR Project provides the ability to store San Juan-Chama water in the aquifer to meet future demand, particularly in years of limited surface water supply availability; and

WHEREAS, the ASR Project is a vital part of the Water Authority's 100-year Water Plan (Water 2120); and

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WATER AUTHORITY:

Section 1.                     That the adjustments for the ASR Design Project as stated below are hereby made.

Section 2.                     That the Executive Director is authorized to negotiate and enter into subsequent agreements, amendments and approve reimbursement requests with the New Mexico DFA Infrastructure Planning and Development Division regarding ASR Project funding and to take any other action necessary to carry out the directives of this Resolution.
