Appointment of Stephanie Moore to the Water Protection Advisory Board

Water Authority staff request the appointment of Ms. Stephanie Moore to the Water Protection Advisory Board (WPAB) to serve a three-year term as one of two of the Water Authority’s appointees on the board.
The purpose of the WPAB is to study and advise the Water Authority, City and County on surface and groundwater protection concerns, oversee the implementation of the Water Quality Protection Policy and Action Plan, and assist with the development of policies and strategies necessary to enhance protection of surface and groundwater quality in the Albuquerque Basin.
Ms. Moore has had diverse professional experiences in the water resources field, including research, policy development and permitting. Specifically, Ms. Moore was the project manager for the development of the integrated groundwater and surface water quality protection policy and action plan, of which the WPAB oversees implementation by City, County and Water Authority staff.
Ms. Moore has previously served on the Water Authority’s Technical Customer Advisory Committee, and is currently self-employed as an independent consulting Hydrologist and an adjunct professor in the University of New Mexico’s Civil Engineering Department. Ms. Moore has a B.S. in environmental sciences from Texas Christian University and a Masters in Earth and Planetary Sciences from the University of New Mexico.
