Declaring that Former Site of Candelaria Well #3 is Surplus Property and Shall Be Sold by Competitive Bid Process

WHEREAS, the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (Water Authority) owns a small lot on Edith Blvd north of the corner of Edith Blvd and Candelaria Rd in northeast Albuquerque which was formerly the site of Candelaria Well #3 and which is more specifically described as Graceland Acres Addition, Lot 16, Block 4, with an assigned UPC # of 101506014308531108 (“Property”); and

WHEREAS, Candelaria Well #3 was decommissioned and the operation of the Water Authority groundwater system infrastructure no longer requires facilities on this Property; and

WHEREAS, the Property is not a suitable or economically feasible as a site for other Water Authority infrastructure; and

WHEREAS, Water Authority property which is non-essential for utility purposes is surplus and should be disposed of by a public process which maximizes the return for the Water Authority for use in its capital improvement program.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE WATER AUTHORITY:

Section 1. That the referenced Property on Edith Blvd north of the corner of Edith and Candelaria in northeast Albuquerque which was formerly the site of Candelaria Well #3 is declared to be surplus as it is non-essential for utility purposes.

Section 2. That the Executive Director is authorized to arrange for the sale of the referenced Property in accord with the requirements of NMSA 13-6-1 et seq., Sale of Public Property.
