Authorizing the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority to Submit an Application for Funding to the New Mexico Environment Department Clean Water State Revolving Fund for the Tijeras Reuse Reservoir and Pump Station (Tijeras RRPS)

WHEREAS, the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (Water Authority) is seeking New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) funding for Phase 1 of the Tijeras Reuse Reservoir and Pump Station (Tijeras RRPS) Project; and

WHEREAS, the Phase 1 Tijeras RRPS project will install a new 4MG reservoir and associated inlet-outlet reuse piping/flow control vaults to store reuse water for future use in the Hubbell Trunk/Mesa Del Sol development for irrigation and potential planned industrial uses; and 

WHEREAS, the Phase 1 Tijeras RRPS project will be followed by a Phase 2 Tijeras RRPS project that will install a new pump station facility to pressurize and deliver the reuse water throughout Mesa Del Sol/Hubbell Trunk for irrigation/industrial demands; and

WHEREAS, the funding request for the Phase 1 Tijeras RRPS Project will be $10 million from NMED CWSRF funding, which will be coupled with existing Bernalillo County ARPA funds (~$5.5M) to construct the Phase 1 project (estimated $15M total). 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WATER AUTHORITY:

Section 1.                     That an application for funding for the Tijeras RRPS Project, be submitted to the New Mexico Environment Department Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

Section 2.                     That the Executive Director shall have the authority to enter into an agreement associated with the financial assistance.

Section 3.                     That the Executive Director will work with the NMED CWSRF to meet established deadlines for entering into a cooperative agreement.
