Authorizing the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority to Submit Congressionally Directed Spending Grant Requests to the 118th Congress of the United States

WHEREAS, the 118th Congress of the United States established Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) Requests to support the development and operation of public infrastructure and community-based services. These grants are designed to help state and local governments, as well as public special authorities and nonprofit organizations, fund important projects that benefit the community; and
WHEREAS, the New Mexico delegation has invited state and local governments, public special authorities, and nonprofit organizations in New Mexico to submit requests for CDS Grants; and
WHEREAS, the Water Authority is responding to this call by submitting applications for five key projects, aiming to improve water management and infrastructure in its service area. This proactive approach aligns with state and federal priorities and demonstrates commitment to community development; and
WHEREAS, the projects include: Carnuel Water and Wastewater System Infrastructure, Sediment Study and Potential Priority Removal in the Rio Chama Watershed, Aquifer Storage and Recovery, South Valley Project, and Southside Water Reclamation Plant Outfall Realignment projects.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WATER AUTHORITY:
Section 1. That CDS Grant Requests will be submitted for the Carnuel Water and Wastewater System Infrastructure, Sediment Study and Potential Priority Removal in the Rio Chama Watershed, Aquifer Storage and Recovery, South Valley Project, and Southside Water Reclamation Plant Outfall Realignment projects.
