Authorizing the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority to Apply for the Match Funds from the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration for the Congressionally Directed Spending Grant Requests to the 118th Congress of the United States

WHEREAS, the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (Water Authority) is seeking New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration (NM DFA) Infrastructure Planning and Development Division funding assistance for the Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) Grants to the 118th Congress of the United States; and

WHEREAS, these grants are an opportunity for non-profit entities, public institutions, tribal governments, and state and local governments to receive financial support for projects that demonstrate significant community support and meet all legal and regulatory requirements; and

WHEREAS, the recap of the projects and their respective delegates are, Senator Martin Heinrich - Carnuel Water and Wastewater; Senator Ben Ray Lujan - Sediment Study and Potential Priority Removal in the Rio Chama Watershed; Representative Melanie Stansbury - Bosque Plant and Classroom/Education Project; and Representative Gabe Vasquez - South Valley Water and Wastewater Project.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WATER AUTHORITY:

Section 1.                     That an application be submitted to the NM DFA Infrastructure Planning and Development Division for match funding required in the Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) Grants.

Section 2.                     That the Executive Director is authorized to negotiate and enter into subsequent agreements, amendments and approve reimbursement requests with the NM DFA Infrastructure Planning and Development Division regarding the Congressional Direct Spending funding and to take any other action necessary to carry out the directives of this resolution.
