Authorizing the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority to Submit an Application for Match Funding Through the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration for the Carnuel Wastewater Project

WHEREAS, the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (Water Authority) is seeking match funding from the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration (NM DFA) to support the planning and design of the Carnuel Wastewater Project; and

WHEREAS, the Carnuel Wastewater Project is intended to reduce the number of failing septic systems in the project area, thereby decreasing contamination and improving groundwater quality over time; and 

WHEREAS, the Water Authority will request $300,000 in match funding from NM DFA, to be combined with $1,050,000 in existing funds from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to advance the planning and design of the Carnuel Wastewater Project. 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WATER AUTHORITY:

Section 1.                     That the Water Authority is hereby authorized to submit an application for match funding in the amount of $300,000 to the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration for the Carnuel Wastewater Project.

Section 2.                     That the Executive Director is hereby authorized to enter into any agreements necessary to secure and administer financial assistance.

Section 3.                     That the Executive Director shall coordinate with the NM DFA to ensure compliance with all deadlines and requirements for entering into a cooperative agreement.
