Approving Purchase of Repair Parts from Trojan Technologies Corp. Aria Filtra

Approval requested for the purchase of Aria Filtra and maintenance parts in the amount of $606,421.33 for replacing 60 microfiltration modules on one filtration rack on the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (Water Authority) water filtration system for a total of 60 modules. The parts are only available for purchase from Trojan Technologies Group ULC, Aria Filtra sole distributor.
The microfiltration modules have been in service since July of 2007. They are reaching the end of serviceable life along with control actuators. These parts will ensure proper water treatment and arsenic removal from the wells that feed it.
This service is intended to be procured pursuant to the authority contained in Section 7(18), Exemptions from the Procurement Ordinance, of the Rules Governing Procurement for the Water Authority. Resolution R-18-14 requires board approval for any purchase in an amount exceeding $500,000. Approval of this item shall also serve as delegation of authority for the Executive Director to approve all future amendments to this purchase, if any.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The approval of $606,421.33 is inclusive of parts and freight. The Water Authority has budgeted funds to cover this agreement.
