Approval of Increase to Price Agreement Contract cap with Chemrite Inc. for Liquid Calcium Thiosulfate (Captor CaS203)

The Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (Water Authority) staff hereby requests an increase to the price agreement cap with Chemrite Inc. for bulk Captor (liquid calcium thiosulfate) to $675,000.00.
Resolution R-18-14 requires board approval for any purchase in an amount exceeding $500,000.
If approved by the board, the Water Authority will issue an amended price agreement to enable Chemrite Inc. to continue to provide bulk Captor (liquid calcium thiosulfate). This price agreement has been in place since January 23, 2024, and provides Captor (liquid calcium thiosulfate) that is used for the de-chlorination of the water at the Aquifer Storage and Recovery Facility and quenching ozone at the San Juan- Chama Water Treatment Plant. Approval of this item shall also serve as delegation of authority for the Executive Director to approve all future amendments to this contract if required.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The requested increase of $175,000.00 will increase the total contract amount to $675,000.00 for the term of January 23, 2024 - January 22, 2028. The Water Authority has budgeted funds to cover this agreement.
