Authorizing the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority to Submit a Congressionally Directed Spending Grant Request to the 118th Congress of the United States

WHEREAS, the House of Representatives and the Senate of the 118th Congress of the United States, have established Congressionally Directed Spending Requests to assist in the development and operation of public infrastructure and community-based services for state and local governments; and

WHEREAS, the members of the New Mexico Congressional Delegation of the 118th Congress have issued calls to state and local governments, public special authorities and nonprofit organizations in New Mexico to submit requests for Congressional Directed Spending Grants; and

WHEREAS, consistent with the Water Authority Governing Board’s previously approved State and Federal Priorities, the Thomas Wells Arsenic Treatment Plant, Carnuel Wastewater System Infrastructure, South-to-North Phase 1 Pipeline Project, and Aquifer Storage and Recovery projects will be submitted.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WATER AUTHORITY:

Section 1.                     That a Congressionally Directed Spending Grant Request for the Water Authority will be submitted to the 118th Congress of the United States for the Thomas Wells Arsenic Treatment Plant, Carnuel Wastewater System Infrastructure, South-to-North Phase 1 Pipeline Project, and Aquifer Storage and Recovery projects.

Section 2.                     That the Executive Director will collaborate with the 118th Congress of the United States to meet established deadlines for entering into cooperative agreements for any authorized Congressional Directed Spending Grants.

Section 3.                     That the Executive Director is authorized to execute Congressional Directed Spending Grants cooperative agreements on behalf of the Water Authority.
